A chiropractor from St. Thomas is dealing with multiple criminal charges after an investigation into sexual assault claims involving several patients, according to the St. Thomas Police Service.
Authorities state that the investigation included multiple complainants, who investigators confirmed were patients of Steven Perry.
Perry, 57, faces three counts of sexual assault and one count of forcible confinement.
He has appeared in court and has been released from custody, as stated by police spokesperson Samantha Wakefield.
The current allegations have yet to be proven in court.

Previous Disciplinary Action
Perry was previously sanctioned by the College of Chiropractors of Ontario in 2006 due to complaints from two patients in St. Thomas. The disciplinary decision mentions that Perry also faced criminal charges related to those complaints. One set of charges against a complainant was dropped, while he was acquitted after a five-day trial concerning the other complainant. However, a regulatory disciplinary committee later found him guilty of professional misconduct regarding informed consent, record-keeping, and unprofessional behavior. He received an oral reprimand, a three-month suspension, and was required to complete training on professional boundaries. CBC News attempted to reach Perry for comment through the Family Health Options Treatment and Resource Centre in St. Thomas but did not get a response before publication. Police encourage anyone with information relevant to the investigation to contact the St. Thomas Police Service Criminal Investigations Division at 519-631-1224.Source link
