QUEEN’S PARK – Marit Stiles, the Leader of the Official Opposition, has submitted a complaint to the Office of the Integrity Commissioner. She’s asking for an investigation into Hardeep Grewal, the PC MPP for Brampton East, for possibly misusing tax dollars to benefit a business owned by a close family member:
“MPP Grewal was recently found spending almost $30,000 on extravagant hotel stays in downtown Toronto, and now he might be violating ethics rules to help a family member with public funds.
“I have reached out to the Integrity Commissioner, urging her to look into MPP Grewal’s spending patterns because there seems to be a consistent trend of ads appearing in a local newspaper that belongs to his father. If tax dollars are going towards helping MPP Grewal’s relatives, the public deserves transparency.
“Doug Ford sets an example for his caucus. Clearly, MPPs who have wasted tens of thousands in taxpayer money on their lavish lifestyles still have his support. But what else can we expect from a Premier who attempted to buy himself a private jet using taxpayers’ money?”
