Authorities are looking into a crash that resulted in the death of a passenger involved in a two-vehicle accident in Cambridge.
According to officials, they received reports of the incident at the intersection of Maple Grove and Speedsville roads around 11:40 a. m., just as snow began to fall in the area.
A white Hino truck collided with a silver Subaru hatchback. The driver of the Subaru, an 81-year-old man from Guelph, was taken to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, his passenger, a 77-year-old woman, was declared dead at the scene.
The truck’s driver, a Kitchener man aged 50, did not sustain any injuries.
As police continue their investigation, Maple Grove Road will remain closed Friday afternoon between Boxwood Drive and Speedsville Road.
