Residents of the Waterloo region, Guelph, and nearby areas should prepare for strong winds throughout Monday.

The weather warning from Environment and Climate Change Canada indicates that gusts ranging from 70 to 90 km/h might shift loose objects, snap tree branches, or lead to power disruptions.

The agency expects these gusty conditions will start developing on Monday morning as cold air moves through.

The high winds should start calming down by Tuesday morning.
