A 47-year-old man from Whitby has been arrested in a case involving child luring.
Durham Regional Police announced on Thursday that they completed an investigation into a man who was communicating with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl. He allegedly sent sexually explicit images and tried to arrange a meeting at a park in Pickering for sexual activities.
When the man got to the park, officers from the ICE Unit took him into custody without any issues.
Steven Catucci faces charges of luring a person under 16 years of age through telecommunications and making sexually explicit material available to someone under 16 years old.
Authorities say the suspect used “Chat IB” with the username “Durham4222” and are worried there may be more victims. SEARCH FOR MAN INVOLVED IN YORK REGION BREAKINS
York Regional Police are asking for help from the public to find a 42-year-old man without a permanent address who is wanted for multiple commercial break-ins throughout the region.
On February 28, officers were called about a burglary near Commerce Valley Dr. and Hwy. 7 W. in Richmond Hill where electronics were stolen.
On March 5, police responded again when another commercial building was broken into in Markham near Hwy. 7 and Hwy. 404, where more electronics were taken.
Authorities believe this same suspect is responsible for both incidents and could have committed as many as eight similar burglaries nearby.
A warrant has been issued for Habib Zahrabi Shotorban’s arrest on five counts of breaking and entering along with eight counts of breaching probation, two counts of failing to comply with release orders, one count each of disguise with intent and mischief under $5,000.
At the time these crimes occurred, he was already on probation due to previous commercial burglaries and there’s an active bench warrant against him as well.

Halton Regional Police are searching for two suspects involved in a home invasion that took place in Milton.
On Friday at around420 am., it’s reported that two suspects broke into a house located between Wilson Dr. and Joyce Blvd., one armedwithahammer.
The suspects confronted an adult male resident inside demanding his car keys; aftera brief struggle overthehammer, both suspects fledon footfromtheresidence.
