A man has died after being hit by a tractor-trailer in Vaughan on Thursday evening, according to York Regional Police.

The accident took place at the intersection of Highway 7 and Islington Avenue around 7:20 p. m. Emergency responders, including police, firefighters, and paramedics, were on the scene.

The pedestrian was declared dead at the location, as reported by York police on social media.

They mentioned that the investigation is still ongoing but confirmed that both the tractor-trailer and its driver have been found.

Roads were reopened at 12:05 a. m. Friday morning.
