Last Friday morning in St. Catharines, Ontario, a troubling event occurred on Lakeshore Road where a man was taken into custody for an alleged murder. The Niagara Regional Police Service responded to an emergency call just before noon about an assault at a home. When they arrived, they found a man with serious injuries who was rushed to the hospital but sadly died from his wounds. The identity of the victim has not been released.

Shortly after the incident, police arrested 34-year-old Brandon Marzec at a nearby location; he is believed to be the assailant. During his arrest, Marzec suffered injuries and was treated at a hospital. The Special Investigations Unit (SIU), which looks into cases involving police actions, has been informed and is currently examining the situation. Marzec now faces charges of second-degree murder and is being held until his bail hearing.
