On Monday, April 13, 2026, Arne Larsen passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at his home in Searchmont, Ontario.
He is survived by his wife Cathy (nee Gray), who was by his side for 45 years.
He was predeceased by his father Poul and is survived by his stepmother Colleen. He leaves behind siblings Jack (Nellie), the late Tom, Peter, as well as sisters the late Lillian, Hannah (Arne), Karen (John), and Lisa. Many aunts, an uncle, and relatives throughout Canada, Denmark, and Sweden will also remember him. He was a brother-in-law to Barbara and Bill, Donald and Cathy, and the late Robert (Dougal).
Arne had many skills; he worked as a farm hand, in construction, as a bouncer, in retail business, as a volunteer firefighter, internet provider, IT consultant-and enjoyed an active retirement volunteering while creating a lovely home in Searchmont.
Please join us to celebrate Arne’s life at the Searchmont Community Centre (734 Hwy 532, Searchmont) on Friday, May 1 from 6:00pm-9:00pm for the fireman’s Honour Guard along with shared stories and memories. There will also be a reception on Saturday, May 2 from 1:00pm-4:00pm at Mountain View Lodge (4280 HWY 556 Goulais River).
A private inurnment will take place later in May in Parkhill, ON. Further details will be shared soon.
