Lena Amman (nee Voss) passed away peacefully at the Ste Rose Hospital on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at the age of 98 years. Her two dear friends, Agatha Thiessen and Pastor Steve Pearson, braved the snowy road conditions to be at her side when she took her final breath and was welcomed into glory.

Left to mourn her passing are her stepchildren Henry (Debra) Mc Kinnon, Mariann (Dave) Roberts, Jeanette (Doug) Emberley, Dan (Gail) Mc Kinnon, her brother Bruno Voss, niece Darlene (Robert) Hawes, and her nephew Randy (Naomi) Voss.

Lena was predeceased by her first husband of many years, Henry Amman in 1993, as well as her second husband, Donald Mc Kinnon in 2016, her parents Ippe and Marieke Voss, and numerous other dear family members.

Lena was born on a ship traveling from Germany to Canada on May 25, 1927. Her family landed in Halifax and eventually made their way to Ochre River where they farmed all their lives. Lena was a hard worker who remained on that homestead until her passing. Lena accepted Jesus as her Saviour at an early age and never wavered from her faith, bringing many to the Lord through her testimony. She was actively involved in her church, Grace Baptist Church, her entire life. What she was most known for was her love of people and her love of cooking and entertaining. She had a wonderful sense of humour and loved to laugh. She will be missed.

A celebration of life was held on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Grace Baptist Church at 10:30 am, followed by a graveside service at Turtle River Cemetery officiated by Pastor Steve Pearson.

If you are unable to attend the service will be live-streamed and may be accessed via the church’s Facebook page. https://www. facebook. com/gracebaptistochreriver/

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Ste Rose Hospital who cared for Lena with such compassion during her final days. A big thank you to Agatha Thiessen who she lovingly referred to as her caregiver but who was so much more.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators Canada for the work of Bonnie and Evan Falk (https://www. wycliffe. ca/member/falk-evan-and-bonnie/))
