A man from London facing murder charges related to the tragic triple shooting at the Lambton College student pub was granted bail on Tuesday, leading to frustration among many in a Sarnia courtroom.
Dane Nisbet, 20, from Sarnia, passed away shortly after being shot around 1 a. m. on April 10 at the Lion’s Den pub patio, which is run by students. Two other young men, who were longtime friends and former junior hockey teammates of Nisbet’s, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, according to police.
Oudom (Richard) Bun, 23, was arrested the day following the shooting at his residence on Stonehenge Place in London and charged with second-degree murder as well as two counts of attempted murder, according to police reports.
On Tuesday, after spending nearly two months in jail, Bun was granted bail set at $75,000 by Superior Court Justice Russell Raikes. However, he must comply with several conditions including GPS tracking and avoiding Lambton County.
It was a tense atmosphere in the second-floor courtroom as Bun appeared wearing a black sweatshirt and grey pants. He was escorted in and out by court security while people in the gallery donned black and orange “Justice for Dane Nisbet” T-shirts. Many attendees showed visible distress after Bun received bail but chose not to comment outside the courthouse afterwards.

Bun will remain incarcerated until a GPS tracker is fitted on his ankle. He is released into the care of his parents who each pledged $25,000 along with him for a total of $75,000 as per his release order. He will reside with them at their shared home on Stonehenge Place in London and must stay there except for certain approved activities like attending court or meeting his lawyer.
He can leave home if accompanied by one of his parents but isn’t allowed anywhere in Lambton County unless it’s for a court appearance in Sarnia as stated in the release order.
Additionally, he cannot enter any properties owned or operated by Lambton College nor possess weapons.

While out on bail, Bun is prohibited from contacting or being near 16 individuals including the two injured men along with several witnesses and three other co-defendants: Kyaw (Chin) Doe, Johnathan Osborne-Walsh and Ava-Leigh Lightheart.
Doe, 24 years old from London also faced charges right after the shooting including second-degree murder along with two counts of attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm. However, police indicated he went into hiding because he was deemed armed and dangerous with connections throughout Ontario.

Sarnia’s police chief urged Doe to surrender himself while obtaining a Canada-wide warrant; they released multiple photos over three rounds along with offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
Finally arrested on April 27 after tactical officers located him hiding inside a home in London. Doe had been scheduled for video court appearance from jail this Tuesday but has yet to apply for bail.
Osborne-Walsh aged 19 from Sarnia has an upcoming court date this Wednesday while Lightheart aged 19 also hailing from Sarnia is due back on July 6 according to records.
