We are saddened to share the news of Roland Edward Buckley’s passing at the age of 78 in Orléans, Ontario, on May 5th. He left us peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Newcastle, New Brunswick, he was the son of Vincent and Regina Buckley.
Roland had a successful career as an Electrical Project Manager, working mainly in Alberta and Ontario. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His strong work ethic was matched by his passion for music and playing guitar. He was also known for his kindness and willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need.
He will be missed dearly by his wife Francine; sons Daniel and Kris; granddaughter Whitney; sister Dorenda Jardine; brothers Brian, Greg, and Charles; cousin Lawrence Buckley; aunt Mary Buckley; along with many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Vincent and Regina Buckley.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to their friend Paul Maybe; the first responders; the staff at Montfort Hospital and the Ottawa Heart Institute for their compassionate care during Roland’s last days. They also appreciate the friends who kept him company at the hospital as well as everyone who sent flowers and meals to support them during this time.
A Celebration of Life for Roland will take place on Saturday, May 30th from 1:00 to 4:00 p. m. at Holiday Inn Express & Suites located at 500 Brisebois Crescent in Orléans, Ontario.
