Shirley Ann Vander Schaaf OBITUARY
Shirley Ann Vander Schaaf, a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother known as “Cha Cha”, peacefully passed away at the age of 69 on August 30, 2026, surrounded by her husband, David Vander Schaaf, and her loving family. She was born on July 8, 1957, in Montclair, California, to Joy and Theresa Cortez. Growing up in Chino Hills, she graduated from Chino High School. Shirley brought immense love and support to her family throughout her life. She married her soulmate, David Vander Schaaf, on June 18, 1976. Together they created a beautiful family filled with joy and countless cherished memories. Together they raised five daughters and one son: Tammy and Ronnie De Vries, Dina Van Ryn and Richard Tillema, Renae and Eric Haakma, Lisa and Jeff Jongsma, Laurie and Brent Vander Eyk, along with Davey Vander Schaaf. Her children will always appreciate her boundless love, strong faith in them all, unwavering support through life’s challenges and the many lessons she taught them over the years. Shirley had a deep love for her family along with a knack for business. With David by her side they started a successful dairy farm in Chino before later relocating their operation to Bakersfield. She was dedicated to making their business thrive while ensuring their family enjoyed a fulfilling life together. Known for her warmth and generosity as well as having a great sense of humor; she always made those around her feel valued. Her strength and commitment to family shone through everything she accomplished. In addition to her children she is survived by fourteen grandchildren: Heidi Van Ryn; Ronnie D. De Vries; Dylan and Kameryn Van Ryn; Emily Van Ryn; David John Haakma; Roxann De Vries; Jacob Haakma; Ashley Haakma; Harisson Jongsma; Olivia Vander Eyk; Liliann Joy Jongsma; Holland Van Ryn; Victoria Vander Eyk; Sophia Vander Eyk; along with three great-grandchildren: Remington Van Ryn; Wesson Gallardo; Rifle Van Ryn. Many other relatives and friends were touched by her kindness that radiated throughout their lives. A funeral service honoring Shirley Ann Vander Schaaf’s life will take place at The Bridge located at 7776 Pine Avenue in Chino California 91708 on September 26th at 1:00 p. m. Family members are invited to come share their respects celebrate her legacy together while reminiscing about wonderful times spent with her.
