A group of students from the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board (HPCDSB) are celebrating their achievements at the Skills Ontario Competition.
Eloise Stock-Bateman from St. Michael Catholic Secondary School in Stratford earned a gold medal in the aesthetics contest. Also winning gold were Becket Noble, Connor Adams, Noble Diepstra, and Vaughn Bachert from Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary School in Wingham in the construction division.
In mechanical engineering, Cohen Taylor, George Davidson, Hayden Rathwell, and Callum Dykstra of St. Joseph’s Catholic Elementary School in Clinton took home bronze. A team from the same school consisting of Reagan O’Brien, Nora Glutzen, Maeva Blake, and Myla Lobb also won bronze in the inaugural landscaping competition.
A press release from the school board mentions that these victories “are a direct result of the Board’s commitment to providing hands-on learning opportunities that prepare students for the 21st-century workforce.”
