Christopher James Jacques, 66, passed away peacefully on August 9th after a tough 5-year battle with COPD and cancer. Chris always kept his sense of humor, even during his illness. Born on September 23, 1959, Christopher was an amazing athlete, father, and friend. He lived a life rich with meaning, love, and special moments. Chris was loved for his kindness, laughter, warmth, and commitment to his family. He often took risks where many would hesitate. He never stopped making people smile-a true gift to everyone who knew him.

Previously married to Dawn, he was a devoted father to Tara Jacques and Abbey Gonzalez. He was also a caring father-in-law and good friend to Roman Gonzalez. His mother Marlene Jacques loved him dearly; he is preceded in death by his father Edward Charles Jacques as well as his sister Kathy Cronin and her husband Bob, brother Rob Jacques and his wife Deb, along with the late Michael Jacques. A proud grandfather to Tanner, Veda, Leo and Sonny.

Words can’t fully express the deep friendships that helped Chris through these last 5 years. Paul Harrison was an incredible friend; Nancy Slater and Brian Hines were there for him too along with Dawn Mancina-each spent time at the hospital during his lengthy stay of 24 days when constant care was needed alongside their daily visits at home; Gary Matte and Leslie; Neil and Kim Graves; Sandy P., among so many others who supported us through tough times-we will forever remember them. He dedicated his life to bringing laughter into every interaction he had. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him-a truly one-of-a-kind person with a big heart. Chris was also the favorite uncle of Deanne Jacques-his little buddy.

Private family arrangements have been made at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – South Chapel. A Celebration of Life for Christopher will be held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at noon at Cramdons Tap and Eatery (2950 Dougall Ave, Windsor, ON N9E 1S2, Canada)
