On Thursday, Durham Regional Police announced they concluded an inquiry regarding a man who was allegedly communicating with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl. It’s claimed he sent sexually explicit images and tried to arrange a meeting at a park in Pickering for sexual acts.
According to police, the man was taken into custody without incident when he showed up at the park by members of the ICE Unit.

MAN WANTED FOR BREAK-IN INCIDENTS IN YORK REGION
York Regional Police are asking for help from the public to find a 42-year-old man without a permanent address who is wanted for multiple commercial break-ins throughout the region.
On February 28, officers were called to investigate a report of a break-in near Commerce Valley Dr. and Hwy. 7 W. in Richmond Hill, where electronics were stolen.
Then on March 5, police responded to another report of a burglary close to Hwy. 7 and Hwy. 404 in Markham where an intruder broke into a commercial building and took electronics.
Authorities believe it’s the same suspect involved in both incidents and think he might be behind as many as eight similar crimes in those areas.
A warrant has been issued for Habib Zahrabi Shotorban’s arrest on five counts of breaking and entering, eight counts of breaching probation terms, two counts of failing to comply with release orders, one count each of disguising himself with intent and mischief involving less than $5,000.
At that time, he was already on probation due to previous commercial burglaries along with an active release order against him; there’s also an existing bench warrant out for him currently.
