A concerning event took place in the Aldershot area of Burlington on April 26, 2026, when a home invasion led to the arrest of a Kitchener teenager named Manav Kotak. Around 2:40 a. m., Kotak and three accomplices reportedly broke into a home by shattering a window on the first floor. The homeowners, awakened by the loud noise, encountered armed intruders who demanded their valuables. It is said that the suspects escaped with jewelry in a stolen car.
The Halton Regional Police, with help from York Regional Police, were able to locate Kotak, who was taken into custody on June 25 and faces charges including armed robbery, pointing a firearm, and wearing disguise with intent. The investigation continues as authorities work to find and capture the other suspects involved.
