He completed his earthly journey on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood, Ontario. He was a loving father to William (Kathleen), David, Sara, Dan (Valeria), Tyson and Theresa (Darryl). He was a dear brother to Allan, Brian and Barton. He was predeceased by his parents, Orrin Sr. and Dorothy, his brother Stephen, ex-wife Dorothy Grandt, and daughter Megan. Orrin will be missed by his former wife Judy Benjamin, along with many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Born in Petoskey, Michigan, Orrin’s life took him to Barrie, Ontario then to Stayner where he farmed; he spent the last ten years in Wasaga Beach. He worked tirelessly to turn his 50 acres into a thriving farm operation and built a home that all seven of his kids lived in during various stages of their lives. He was skilled at many trades and spent the later part of his career crafting fine cabinetry and interiors across Blue Mountain and nearby areas. No one was more determined or worked harder than he did. He loved sharing what he knew with anyone who asked for advice. In his free time he enjoyed being with his kids and friends as well as tinkering on his 1966 Ford Fairlane. Orrin had a passion for shows like American Pickers and Storage Wars; he loved going to garage sales and enjoying food and music while watching sports with family. His heart always cheered for the Chicago Bears!
Friends and family are invited to join at Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Wasaga Beach Chapel located at 509 River Road West in Wasaga Beach for a celebration of Orrin’s life; details will be announced later. Donations in memory of Orrin can be made to the Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation – Campbell House Hospice.
