22Dogs VFX, the visual effects studio known for its work on Apple TV’s The Morning Show and Netflix’s heist thriller Here Comes the Flood, has launched a new location in Toronto to serve as its North American headquarters.
The international studio, which is based in Milan and has credits for projects like Netflix’s Outer Banks, Lionsgate’s Day Drinker, and Prime Video’s The Greatest, also operates an office in Los Angeles. This new facility at Pinewood Toronto Studios marks the third production site for 22Dogs VFX, following their locations in Milan and Tenerife.
Joining other global studios in Toronto, 22Dogs VFX will contribute to visual effects projects for major studios and streaming services seeking digital tax incentives, currency advantages, and lower labor costs available in Ontario. The day-to-day operations at Pinewood Toronto Studios will be managed by Samara Melanson, the head of studio. She’ll collaborate closely with Andrea Marotti, partner and executive producer at 22Dogs based in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles office will keep working closely with major studios and streaming services as well as international producers who often bring film and television projects to Canada for both production and post-production. Pinewood Toronto Studios already acts as a Canadian hub for Netflix and Amazon MGM Studios.
