Thunder Bay – WEATHER – Tuesday, September 1, 2026 – September kicks off with wet and unsettled weather in many of Ontario’s Far North fly-in communities. Showers will impact areas like KI/Big Trout Lake, Marten Falls/Ogoki Post, Neskantaga, and Summer Beaver. Wasaho Cree Nation/Fort Severn and Peawanuck may also see showers during the day or afternoon.

The weather trend improves by Wednesday, leading to more sunshine or a mix of sun and clouds on Thursday. Daytime temperatures are expected to stay in the upper teens to low 20s-pretty mild for early September in several northern regions.

For those traveling by air, Tuesday is likely the most challenging day regarding weather conditions. Rain, lower cloud cover, and occasional thunderstorms could occur in parts of the inland Far North. However, conditions should be better on Wednesday and Thursday.
