A 19-year-old man from Ottawa has lost his life after a collision involving two vehicles on Highway 17 in Horton Township.
Officers from the Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to the accident at the intersection of Highway 17 and Storyland Road at around 6:39 a. m. on Friday, July 17.
The young man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Technical Collision Investigators and a collision reconstructionist from the OPP were present to aid in the investigation along with other emergency personnel.
The investigation is still ongoing.
Highway 17 remained shut down between Storyland Road and Bruce Street in Horton Township while investigators worked at the site.
Authorities are urging anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage from that area around the time it happened to reach out to the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
