Starting Monday, drivers in London will find a new route along part of Wellington Road.
A temporary traffic diversion will take place between Wellington Crescent and Thomas Janes Drive, as stated in a news release from the City of London.
The city expects this change to last until 2027.
This detour will facilitate construction crews replacing underground infrastructure for the Wellington Gateway rapid transit project, according to the city. The overall project timeline extends through 2029, with final restoration efforts planned for 2030.

Pedestrians and cyclists can also expect a new multi-use path on the west side of the temporary road.
To ensure transit services continue smoothly, new northbound and southbound temporary bus stops will be established near Emery Street.
Traffic and sidewalk restrictions on Wellington Road and some adjacent streets will still apply, so residents are advised to pay attention to posted signs and allow extra travel time in the area.
