Ontario is boosting Simcoe County’s land ambulance funding by 9 percent, making the total provincial investment in the area $37,591,402 this year.

SIMCOE COUNTY – The Ontario government is putting $38,391,402 into Simcoe County to help connect more residents to emergency care quicker and enhance the availability of paramedics and ambulances in the community. “When an emergency strikes, families need to know that help will be there when they need it. By investing over $38 million in ambulance services and offload supports in Simcoe County-part of nearly $1.1 billion provincewide-we’re ensuring paramedics can get back on the road faster and that more ambulances are ready to respond to 9-1-1 calls. This funding will link people to quicker emergency care and bolster the healthcare services our growing communities depend on.” – Doug Downey, MPP for Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte “This increase in land ambulance funding will significantly benefit families in Simcoe North and towns throughout Simcoe County. It helps communities manage rising costs while addressing the growing demand for emergency services. Funding through the Dedicated Offload Nurses Program will also cut down on the time paramedics spend waiting at hospital emergency departments to hand over patients, enabling them to return to responding to 9-1-1 calls sooner.” In expanding areas like Orillia, Midland, and Penetanguishene-as well as rural places like Tiny, Tay, Severn, and Ramara-making sure ambulances are accessible and that emergency workers receive necessary support is vital.
