KAWARTHA LAKES – Two individuals have been taken into custody following a probe into drug trafficking activities in the Peterborough region.
The investigation started back in December of 2025 by the Peterborough/Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).
According to police, on Thursday, February 5, 2026, an individual tied to the investigation was seen leaving a motel. Officers approached them and made an arrest. A second person with them was also apprehended and later found to be wanted by the Peterborough Police Service (PPS).
Additionally, two others in a vehicle were discovered violating court orders by being together and were arrested as well.
Following these arrests, the police seized several items:
• 84 grams of suspected Fentanyl
• 56 grams of suspected Cocaine
• 250 suspected Dilaudids
• Multiple cell phones
• $4,880 in Canadian cash
Kody Cummings, age 28 from Peterborough, ON., is facing charges for:
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Dilaudids
• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Megan Casey, age 42 from Peterborough, ON., has been charged with:
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Dilaudids
The two accused are being held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
Christine Leach, age 46 from Peterborough, ON., is charged with:
• Disobey court order
Andrew Mc Arthur, age 45 from Peterborough, ON., faces charges for:
• Disobey court order
The latter two were released with a scheduled date to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
