A steakhouse in downtown Oshawa has closed its doors, with a notice on the front door from the landlord stating that the restaurant owners are behind on nearly $70,000 in rent.

Legends of Fazio’s opened in 2019, two years after the original Fazio’s – a well-known spot for 38 years, particularly famous for its impressive wine collection of over 20,000 bottles – shut down when Tino Fazio retired and sold the building located at 33 Simcoe St. S.

Thas Thurairasa mentioned he aimed to honor Fazio’s by opening under the Legends of Fazio’s name back in 2019.

The notice from the bailiff, dated April 10, indicated that the locks have been changed and access to retrieve personal belongings would require permission from the landlord – WJW Canada Inc. based in Thornhill.

The sign stated that the business owes $69,911.94 in unpaid rent and has five days to collect any assets before they are put into storage.
