Terrence “Terry” Joseph Mahoney was born on August 9, 1955, in Nipigon, Ontario, to his late parents, Daisy and John Dennis Mahoney. He passed away at the age of 70 on April 14, 2026, at Nipigon District Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Terry was a caring husband, a dedicated father, and a proud grandfather. He is survived by his wife Lynn, son Steven, granddaughter Shiera; his brothers Dennis Mahoney (Mary), Jack Mahoney (Debbie), and Kevin Mahoney (Rose); as well as his sisters-in-law Ilona, Rita and Kathy. He was predeceased by his sister Kathy and his parents John (Chic) and Daisy Mahoney.

Terry had diverse interests and was knowledgeable about many topics beyond just plumbing and heating, which he worked in for most of his life. He was also known in the community for being one of the first to help both friends and strangers.

In line with Terry’s wishes, there won’t be any formal funeral or memorial service. Family and friends are encouraged to remember him in their own ways-perhaps through acts of kindness or supporting causes that were important to him.

The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to the medical staff at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre – Cancer Care, along with Nipigon District Memorial Hospital for their years of care and compassion during Terry’s fight against cancer.

Terry leaves behind countless loving memories that will be treasured by his extended family and all who knew him.

We love you and miss you.
