PETER “Pete” SIMONE

May 8, 1937 – May 5, 2026

Peter passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, just before his 89th birthday. He was a loving husband for 68 years to Annette (nee Beneteau). He leaves behind his dear children Pat, the late James (January 2026) and his wife Wendy of Edmonton, along with Ron and his wife Ann Marie of Niagara.

Cherished Grandpa of Greg (Erika) Mancina, and Kristen, Lauren (Sam), Kyra (Greg), and Teri (Evan) Simone.

He is survived by his siblings Theresa (Matt 2003) Cristofaro, Alfred (Judy), John (Valerie 2025), Mary Policella, Jeanette Incitti (Marcel Renaud), Dan (Marilyn), Denise (Ralph) Orsi, and Lucy (Andy) Schmidt. Also surviving are his brothers-in-law Dorothy (Albert 2024) Simone and Dorothy (Pat 2021) Endo. He was predeceased by brother Tony and Ruth Anne (1996), along with nephews Jeffrey, Michael, John and niece Cynthia from the Simone family. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Throughout his full life, Peter was a talented carpenter, volunteer umpire, church reader at St. Joseph Church, teacher at Western Secondary School, home inspector, mentor to many people in need of guidance and a loyal friend. He enjoyed country and Irish music as well as traveling. Watching hockey and baseball games brought him joy too-especially when he was with family. His kind nature and sense of humor won him many friends over the years.

In accordance with Peter’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (South Chapel), located at 3048 Dougall Ave., Windsor (519-253-7236) on Monday, May 11, 2026 from 5:00 to 8:00pm. Family and friends are welcome to meet directly at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 9399 Townline Road in River Canard on Tuesday May 12th from 10:00 a. m. until the Funeral Mass begins at 10:30 a. m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the St. Joseph Church Restoration Fund.

Condolences and memories can be shared online at www. windsorchapel. com
