Mildred Bernice (Betts) Mcphee

Print

July 6, 1919 – March 22, 2015
We are heartbroken to share that Mildred Mc Phee has passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at Village of Aspen Lake. She was born in Hardwood Ridge, NB to Mabel (Dykeman) and Ephriam Betts and made the move to Windsor in 1944. Mildred was the loving wife of the late Bert Mc Phee (1987). She was a devoted mother to Marion Macon and the late George (Bill) OH, as well as Glenna Mc Fadden and the late Alvin (Abbey). Her grandchildren include Linda Banker (Harold) WV, Karen Macon (Will Smith) VA, Jamie Macon (Karen) PA, Michael Macon PA, Shelley Awad (Mitch), Kevin Mc Fadden (Debbie), and Heather Gurtler from AB. She also had the joy of being a great-grandmother to Terra Bodkins (Erik), Jana Gilkeson (John), Brandon Banker, Andrew Macon (Heather Lehman), Kelly Macon, Aaron Rossini (Erin), Keith, Richard, Mark and Steven Mc Fadden, as well as Bradley Gurtler who has his dad Dan. She was a dear great-great-grandmother to Eden Bodkins, Gavin and Addison Gilkeson along with Naomi Rossini. Additionally welcomed were step-great-grandsons Matthew Johnson and Eric & Trevor Smith (Crystal), plus their daughter Ella. Mildred is survived by her sisters-in-law Elizabeth Betts (late Lawrence) and Gretchen Betts (late Marven). Many wonderful nieces and nephews will also miss her greatly. Preceding her in death were siblings Marie Mc Conaghy (Rev Stanley), Everett, Ina Mason (Lyle), Spurgeon (Alta), along with Great-Great-Granddaughter Zoey Sue Banker. She held a special place for “Mom” Darlene Malott (Chuck) and Ruby Kelton in her heart. Her best friends included Pat and Ernie Andrykew. Caring cousins such as Linda Keyeux (Al), Pat Babington and Lorelei Norman (Dave) were also close to her. The “Quilting Ladies” Helen Andrews, Helen Mc Gregor and Kelly Phillips enjoyed spending time with her too. Our heartfelt thanks go out to caregivers Mariss Ortillano, Shahida Haider, Mary Jane Limoge, Annette Tomes, Annette Rennie, Josh Dent and Ramone Alancia & staff & residents of Village of Aspen Lake alongside CCAC and Bayshore for their compassionate care. For many years she found friendship at Calvary Community Church which she attended faithfully. Visitation will be held at Families First 1065 Lauzon Road 519-969-5841 on Thursday from 3 -5 p. m. and again from 7-9 p. m. It will continue on Friday starting at 10:30 a. m., followed by the service at 11:30 officiated by Pastor Don Rogers. Interment will take place at Victoria Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to Hospice or any charity you prefer.
