Gary Gene Farr, 70, of Noblesville, IN, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026 after a long fight with cancer at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on March 25, 1955 in Indianapolis, IN.

Gary, who was often called Goffer, graduated from Hamilton Southeastern High School where he made friends for life who supported him throughout the years. After graduating high school, he worked at Kraft Mc Mahon for 16 years.

In 1995, Gary joined Fishers Junior High as a custodian and became the head custodian in 1999. He stayed there for six years before moving to Riverside Junior High School. In 2006, Gary managed the opening of the new Riverside Junior High and continued as the main custodial manager until he retired in 2014. During his time at the school, he built many strong relationships with both staff and students and truly enjoyed his job.

Gary was recognized for his strong work ethic and his perfectly manicured front yard and flower gardens. He was known to wear shorts year-round and enjoyed flip flops along with barefoot golfing. A fan of Jimmy Buffet, he loved trips to Sanibel Island and Hawaii. He also listened loyally to Q95 and had a passion for motorcycles/cars as well as being an avid Notre Dame supporter along with Indiana basketball and college football.

He is survived by his sister Jo Ellen (Phil) Canada; brother David Farr; niece Kelli (Yuval) Awazu; nephews Brian (Amy) Canada and Bradley (Jennifer) Canada; plus great nieces and nephews Ingrid, Emery, Benjamin, Jimmy, Reese, Archer, Blakely, Beaumont and Banks.

In addition to his parents Dallas and Doris Farr, he was preceded in death by his brother Scott Farr.

The cremation services have been entrusted to Randall and Roberts Funeral Homes. There will not be a formal viewing or funeral service.

If you wish to honor Gary’s memory with contributions for student scholarships at Riverside School they can be sent via check to: Riverside Junior High PTO, 10910 Eller Road, Fishers, IN 46038. Please include “Gary Farr memorial donation” in the memo line.
