We are saddened to share the unexpected loss of Bernd Wehmeyer, who passed away at home on July 6, 2026, at the age of 68.
Bernd was born in Detmold, Germany to Richard and Gerda Wehmeyer. He moved to Canada where he served in the Royal Canadian Airforce until his retirement. His dedication to work led him into the private sector where he continued working until his last days.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Dolores, with whom he shared over 47 wonderful years.
He is survived by his children Mark (Aya), Ryan, and Melissa. His beloved grandchildren Makiya, Sho, Hiro, Liam, Ellyanna, and Ethan will also feel his absence greatly.
He was a dear brother to Peter Wehmeyer (Tegan Hull) and their daughter Emerson; Liz (Stefano Gabaldo) and their kids Alex and Max; as well as Kay Wehmeyer.
The family would appreciate any donations made in Bernd’s memory to Southlake Health.
Cremation has taken place, and a private family gathering will be arranged for a later date.
