As Easter weekend draws near, many local businesses and public services will be closed.

These closures will start on April 3, Good Friday, but Saturday will see regular hours for most places.

On Sunday, April 5, being Easter, expect several more closures.

Most shops will reopen on Monday, April 6; however, many government offices will still be shut.

What’s open and closed: Good Friday and Easter Sunday

Open:

Local parks and some outdoor recreation facilities Most Shoppers Drug Marts (it’s a good idea to call ahead) Most restaurants will serve dining in addition to takeout and delivery (calling ahead is recommended) Some smaller grocery stores like Rabba grocery stores Select Starbucks locations (hours may differ by location) Certain Tim Hortons locations (check ahead as hours can vary) Conservation Halton Parks: Crawford Lake, Hilton Falls, Kelso, Mount Nemo, Mountsberg, Rattlesnake Point Terra Cotta Conservation Area in Halton Hills Toronto Premium Outlets (Friday from 9:30 a. m. – 7 p. m. and Sunday from 11 a. m. – 7 p. m.) Eaton Centre in Toronto (Friday from 11 a. m. – 7 p. m. and Sunday from noon – 5 p. m.)

Closed:

Mapleview Centre Burlington Centre Oakville Place Milton Mall Costco Most major grocery stores LCBOs Beer Stores Community centres/arenas/pools Oakville Museum Mattamy National Cycling Centre in Milton Municipal buildings including Town halls in Milton, Burlington, Oakville and Halton Hills as well as Halton Region offices Banks Libraries Halton Court Services All schools Canada Post (no mail pickup or delivery) Halton Waste Management Site There won’t be any waste collection. Follow this link to find out when your collection is scheduled.

Other major malls that are closed:

Bramalea City Centre Square One Sherway Gardens Vaughan Mills Yorkdale

Transit:

Oakville Transit will run on a holiday schedule from 8 a. m. to 8 p. m. Burlington Transit will operate on a Sunday/holiday timetable from 6:30 a. m. to 10:15 p. m. Milton Transit won’t be available GO Transit will follow a Saturday schedule with varying hours based on the route. Follow this link for details.

Most government offices Canada Post (no mail collection or delivery) City and Town Halls Schools Most municipal facilities such as libraries, museums and recreation centres

Open

Major malls and shopping centres Banks LCBO (some locations might have altered hours so it’s best to check first) The Beer Store Grocery stores Restaurants Transit services will run normally but check ahead of time No changes to the waste collection schedule for Monday, April 6 INsauga’s Editorial Standards and Policies
