A 36-year-old man from Mississauga has been arrested and charged following a fraud investigation at a dental office in Oakville.
In April 2025, Halton police launched an inquiry into a former employee of the dental office who had been unlawfully redirecting business funds into multiple bank accounts that he controlled.
Authorities report that the money was taken while he was employed at the dental office.
Investigators soon found out that over $235,000 had been funneled into the man’s bank accounts between May 2023 and January 2025.
As a result of their findings, on May 1 Ngoc Tuan Nguyen faced charges for the following offences:
Fraud – Over $5,000 Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5,000 Laundering Proceeds of Crime
Police believe Nguyen might have worked at other dental offices and are worried there could be more victims.
