A 47-year-old man from Toronto has been taken into custody and charged following a crash that resulted in the death of a 34-year-old woman in Scarborough last November, according to police.
The individual, who was arrested on Thursday, faces charges of dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death, as stated by Toronto police in a news release on Thursday.
Authorities reported that the charge is related to an incident involving a grey Ford F350 pickup truck near Markham Road and Finch Avenue E. on November 5 at around 6:45 p. m. The suspect was set to appear in court later that day.
According to the release, the driver was heading northbound on Markham Road just south of Finch Avenue E., with the woman riding as a passenger when he lost control and crashed.
Police mentioned on social media that the accident occurred “in an industrial area” of Scarborough.
The woman was declared dead at the scene, while the man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.
