The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is looking into a home invasion that occurred in Oakville, which resulted in a vehicle being stolen early Sunday morning.
Officers arrived at a residence near Neyagawa Boulevard and Dundas Street around 3:05 a. m. on Sunday, April 26th. Investigators claim that three male suspects used a hammer to break a window on the front door, allowing them to reach inside to unlock it and enter the home.
The noise woke up residents inside, who were confronted by one suspect holding a hammer and demanding the keys to a Mercedes SUV parked in the driveway. According to police, the suspects took the keys and drove off in the stolen vehicle as well as in a red SUV they had used to get there.
Later on, the stolen SUV was found abandoned in Toronto. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Investigators are asking for help from the public for any video footage (either dashcam or surveillance) recorded around Dundas Street and Neyagawa Boulevard between 2:45 a. m. and 3:10 a. m.
