York Regional Police (YRP) are on the hunt for a man connected to an investigation regarding the suspected production of 3D-printed firearms and their trafficking in Whitchurch-Stouffville.

The probe started after officers got tips about 3D-printed guns possibly being made at a residence in the area. Later, police executed a search warrant at that home, seizing various firearm-related items, which included components for handguns and rifles, ammunition, banned devices, and tools believed to have been used to create 3D-printed firearms.

Authorities have charged 30-year-old Steen Eliasen with around 12 counts, including weapons trafficking and possession of illegal firearms. Investigators report that Eliasen is still at large, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

York Regional Police are encouraging Eliasen to consult with a lawyer and turn himself in. They also advise the public not to approach him if spotted but instead to contact law enforcement right away. Investigators warned that anyone helping Eliasen could face criminal charges as well.
