Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) is reaching out to residents in Kitchener and Cambridge following two home break-ins last week.
The first incident is believed to have taken place around 11:30 a. m. on April 16, near Highgrove Court and Dickie Settlement Road in Cambridge.
Less than an hour later, another break-in occurred in the area of Robert Ferrie Drive and Thomas Slee Drive in Kitchener. In this case, the homeowner returned to find the suspects still inside. This startled them, causing them to escape on foot.
Police told 570 News Radio that they currently have very limited details to go on. They’re unsure about how many suspects are involved.
They’re asking homeowners nearby the break-in locations to check their Ring or security camera footage for anything that might help with the investigation.
The request goes out to residents on Robert Ferrie Dr., Thomas Slee Dr., Pieter Vos Dr., and Blair Creek Dr. to review their footage from between 12 p. m. and 2 p. m. on April 16.
Authorities mentioned that the suspects were seen running away and trying to change clothes.
