A 44-year-old man from Kitchener has passed away following a collision involving a pickup truck and an e-bike on Friday night.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the intersection of Lancaster Street and Guelph Street around 9:45 p. m. Friday due to reports of the accident. This intersection is regulated by traffic lights.
The e-bike rider, the 44-year-old man, was transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to police.
The pickup truck driver, a 38-year-old resident of Kitchener, did not sustain any physical injuries, police reported.
The intersection remained closed for several hours as authorities conducted their investigation.
Investigators are still looking into the details surrounding the incident. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash camera footage is urged to reach out to the Waterloo Regional Police Service.
