Jan Ecker passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, at the age of 76, surrounded by her loving family. She was the former spouse and dear friend of Larry Ecker (2020), and a special friend to John. Jan was a devoted mother to Larry Ecker (Jana) and Karen Mangham (Chris). She took great pride in being a loving grandmother to Kayla, Charlie (Sara), Bradley, and Teddy.

Now reunited in heaven with her beloved parents, Vera and Percy Haines; her cherished sisters Debbie Hugall and Marg Kramer (Al); along with all her many adored pets who were so dear to her.

Her sister Christine Coss (Gord); brothers Steve Hugall (Christine) and Bill Hugall (Cheryl); as well as sister-in-law Brenda Zuccato (Ron) will remember her fondly. Many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends will also miss her dearly.

After more than 30 years of dedicated work at Union Gas, Jan retired with a reputation for her strong work ethic and loyalty. Outside of work, she had an immense love for animals and shared her life with many furry companions over the years.

Everyone who knew Jan will remember her warm heart, bright smile that could light up any room, and the positive impact she made on everyone around her.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Brouillette Manor and the Palliative Care Team at Windsor Regional Hospital – Met Campus for their exceptional care during this time.

Cremation has taken place per Jan’s wishes. Memorial Visitation is set for Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 3:00 pm until Jan’s Celebration of Life at 5:00 pm in the Chapel at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME – BANWELL CHAPEL located at 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235). Family and friends are invited to gather directly at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens (1805 Highway 3, Oldcastle) on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 1 pm for the committal service where Jan will be laid to rest.

If you wish to honor Jan’s memory in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Windsor Essex County Humane Society. Online condolences and shared memories can be sent through www. windsorchapel. com
