Halton police are on the lookout for a male suspect in connection with a jewellery store robbery that took place in Oakville on May 14.

Around 10 a. m., an employee of National Jewellers, situated at 61 Lakeshore Rd. West, was getting ready to open the shop when a man approached them outside with a handgun.

The suspect ordered the employee to unlock the door and then guided them to a secure area within the store where he stole cash and jewellery.

Afterward, he tied up the employee’s hands before making his escape on foot.

Authorities have recovered a black BB gun from the scene. Thankfully, they report that the employee did not sustain any physical injuries.

Investigators describe the suspect as wearing a black hoodie, black running shoes, beige pants, gloves, and a baseball hat. They also note that he had a backpack with him.

If you have any information related to this case or if you possess security or dash cam footage from the vicinity of Lakeshore Road West and Wilson Street between 9 a. m. and 11 a. m., please reach out to police at 905-825-4777, ext. 2216.

You can provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 or visiting their website.
