The Town of Saugeen Shores has scored a legal victory as it works on the Cedar Crescent Village development.

As stated by the town, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice issued its decision on May 19 in Mann v. Town of Saugeen Shores, following motions from both sides that took place on December 18, 2025.

The Court approved the Town’s request to dismiss Mann’s application, ruling that it was an abuse of process given the terms of a previous settlement between the parties and that it was filed outside of the relevant time limits.

Mann’s application aimed to seek judicial review of Council’s 2022 decisions which labeled certain lands as “surplus” and confirmed associated by-law and long-term lease agreements.

The Town mentioned that no additional comments regarding the ruling will be provided at this time.

The Ontario Courts site was unavailable at publication time, so the ruling couldn’t be accessed. For anyone wanting a copy of the Court’s decision, it can be obtained through the Municipal Office.
