A 28-year-old man from Peterborough has lost his life after a single-vehicle accident on Fifes Bay Road in Selwyn Township early Friday morning (May 22).
According to the Peterborough Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly after 1 a. m.
Authorities report that the vehicle was heading southbound on Fifes Bay Road when it seems the driver lost control, resulting in the vehicle going into a ditch.

The driver was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre, where he was pronounced dead.
The section of Fifes Bay Road between Lily Lake Road and Lindsay Road is currently closed as police conduct their investigation. It is anticipated that the road will reopen later Friday morning.
