One person is in hospital with what Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is calling “serious” but non-life-threatening injuries, after they say a motorcycle crashed into a barrier on Highway 401 in La Salle at Todd Lane.

It happened around 8 p. m. Thursday night, according to authorities.

The crash closed the eastbound lanes in that area of the highway for around three hours.

The motorcycle rider was a 28-year-old from Windsor.

No word yet from police on what led to the crash, or if charges are possible.

The collision remains under investigation by Essex County OPP.
