If you’ve been considering running for a municipal council in the area, the time to submit your nomination papers starts this Friday.

Beginning at 8:30 a. m., aspiring candidates can file their paperwork. The nomination period wraps up at 2 p. m. on August 21.

The forms needed to run in Windsor can be found at 350 City Hall Square West at wickets 3 and 4 on the first floor, or online at www. Windsor Elections. ca.

The filing fee is $100 for city councillor and school board trustee candidates, while mayoral candidates will need to pay $200. Payments can be made using cash, credit card, or debit card.

<p Candidates must submit their papers either in person or through an agent during regular business hours from 8:30 a. m. to 4:30 p. m. Monday through Friday, or between 9 a. m. and 2 p. m. on the final day, August 21.

Windsor highly advises that candidates schedule an appointment to file their paperwork ahead of time.

To qualify, candidates must be a resident, tenant, or spouse of a resident in the town or city council they’re aiming for, must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years old, and not disqualified by any law from holding municipal office.
