Hamilton police report that a man has died and several others may be hurt following a shooting on Thursday.

Officers responded to calls about gunfire at a residential building located at 191 Main St. W. at 6:30 p. m. When they arrived, they found a man with critical injuries. He was rushed to the hospital but later passed away.

The victim has been named as 19-year-old Talon Williams-Parkin, marking him as Hamilton’s third homicide victim this year.

“Investigators believe an exchange of gunfire occurred inside a unit within the building. During the incident, the victim was struck, and evidence suggests the suspect may also have been injured,” police said in a news release Friday.
