Another suspect, also 19, was taken into custody earlier this month in Moosonee, located in northern Ontario.

A second suspect has been found following a homicide that occurred in Vaughan earlier this year.

According to a news release from York Regional Police, officers were dispatched on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, around 1 p. m. to a commercial plaza at Winges Road and Rowntree Dairy Road after receiving reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, they discovered a man outside a business who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

On Thursday, March 19, Isaiah Thomas Badger, 19, from Edmonton was apprehended by the Calgary police fugitive team. He faces charges of first-degree murder and arson causing damage to property.

The other suspect involved in the homicide case is Jacob Wallace, 19, from Mississauga; he was arrested on March 5 in Moosonee, Ontario.

The York Regional Police homicide unit expressed gratitude towards the media and the public as well as the Calgary police fugitive team for their support in locating the suspect.

York Regional Police also thanked the Toronto Police Service, Royal Canadian Mounted Police E Division and K Division, Calgary Police Service, Edmonton Police Service, Vancouver Police Service, Abbotsford Police Service and Surrey Police Service for their help with the investigation.

If anyone has information regarding this case, they are encouraged to reach out to the York Regional Police Homicide Unit by calling 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7865 or emailing the unit at [email protected].
