The Town of Wasaga Beach is excited to announce a significant achievement for local students, families, and residents as the Province of Ontario provides an extra $4.5 million in funding and allows the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board to move forward with issuing the construction tender for the Town’s first high school and community hub.

This initiative is backed by a total investment of $64.9 million, which includes $62.2 million in provincial funding along with a $2.7 million contribution from the Town of Wasaga Beach aimed at enhancing theatre facilities that will broaden opportunities for both students and residents.

This groundbreaking project will create 1,008 new student spaces, 49 licensed child care spots, and shared facilities like a 300-seat theatre and a track-and-field area.

The new school will be Wasaga Beach’s first high school. It will serve as an essential community hub, fostering student learning while increasing access for residents through shared spaces dedicated to education, recreation, and the arts. Additionally, it will assist local families by allowing more students to stay in the community and reducing daily commutes for around 800 high schoolers.
