A man lost his life in a head-on collision east of Oshawa on Sunday.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene on Highway 35/115 around 1:45 p. m. on April 26, as reported by the Ontario Provincial Police.
Two SUVs collided in the northbound lanes of Highway 35/115, just south of Concession Road 3 in Newcastle, according to the OPP.
One driver, an 80-year-old man from Clarington, was declared dead at the scene.
The other SUV’s driver was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening or likely to change their life, police noted.
The northbound side of Highway 35/115 was closed between Highway 2 and Concession Road 3 for several hours while investigators worked with help from the OPP-HSD Traffic Support Unit.
