Police in Kingston, Ont., are looking for a dark pickup truck and its occupants after they reportedly shot pedestrians with an airsoft rifle at two different spots just two kilometres apart on Tuesday afternoon.
The first victim was hit in the face in the area of Russell and Patrick streets around 12:30 p. m., according to Const. Anthony Colangeli, who noted that the victim was taken to hospital for treatment.
A second individual was struck “multiple times” shortly after on Palace Road near Park Street, he added.
“Any firearm that shoots a projectile is a dangerous weapon,” Colangeli said.
“If you get hit in the eye, you could lose your vision.. so it’s definitely not anything to be taken lightly.”

The constable mentioned that many airsoft and BB guns look like real firearms.
“Anybody, including the police, cannot tell whether that is an airsoft or a real firearm, and in most cases, until we know that it is not a real firearm, it is treated as if it is a real firearm,” explained Colangeli.
Investigators are still trying to figure out why these drive-by shootings happened and are asking anyone with information to reach out.
Police are also advising the public not to approach the suspect vehicle, which might be a Ford F-150, and instead call 911.
