Station Gallery in Whitby is showcasing a fresh exhibition – The Oh Canada! Project.
This exhibition encourages artists to explore and reinterpret the Canadian flag through their creations.
With an open call for submissions starting on May 1, this exhibit will be set up just in time for Canada Day. Organizers promise it will serve as a meaningful tribute to national identity, unity, and artistic expression.
Using painting, photography, sculpture, and mixed media, artists will share their distinct viewpoints on this enduring symbol.
“This project is more than an art exhibition-it’s a reflection of what it means to be Canadian,” says Natasha Downes, Executive Director of Station Gallery. “The flag represents our shared history, values, and hopes for the future. We’re excited to see how artists interpret this iconic emblem in new and meaningful ways.”
Artists from all backgrounds and styles are welcome to submit their work for consideration.
Submissions will be open from May 1 until June 13. The exhibition will run from June 23 through August 29. The Opening Reception is scheduled for June 26 at Station Gallery, located at 1450 Henry Street in Whitby. Attendance is free; however, donations are appreciated.
