Ontario Provincial Police report that a 72-year-old man has been charged with assault after he allegedly confronted someone for ice fishing too near him.
According to OPP, officers were dispatched to Chemong Lake close to Peterborough on Wednesday afternoon following reports of an assault during ice fishing.
The victim stated that the suspect approached them aggressively while they were fishing.
The accused claimed the person was too close before allegedly attacking them.
Police arrested a man from Ennismore as a result of the incident.
The individual charged is set to appear in court next month.
