Authorities report that a 23-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a man during an unprovoked attack outside his home, located north of Toronto.
York Regional Police stated they responded to an assault on Wednesday evening in Richmond Hill, Ont., where they discovered a man suffering from serious injuries.
The victim was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Officers apprehended the suspect nearby and charged him with second-degree murder.
According to investigators, the 54-year-old victim was attacked “without provocation” while he was outside his residence, and it appears that neither he nor the suspect were acquainted.
The suspect is also facing charges for breaching probation.
